I started thinking more, caring more about other people, than about myself. Our God transgresses boundaries. My physical transformation was a move toward wholeness that allowed me to access parts of myself I had never experienced before. For the first time I was allowed to be both smart and emotionally connected. From chapter 6 until chapter 31—where Moses passes leadership to Joshua, and then dies—we read the laws that God is laying out for the people of Israel.
But not to present myself honestly to the world is to deny the work of my Creator. Then I transitioned. We must avoid trite explanations or knee-jerk reactions, but we must continue to say that, since God made us, he gets the ultimate say in who we are.
